Coaches and Leaders

Anyone who has volunteered to coach or support the mini section this year is invited to a pre-season get together on Saturday 31st August 9:30 to 11:00.  The object of the session will be to set out the plans for the season, provide some useful coaching tips and generally share best practice.


Essex Hockey Academy Assessment Days

Essex Hockey Association are pleased to invite talented Hockey Players to attend county assessment days for each of the following age groups:


U 13’S (BORN 2007) 15/9 at CHC 1-3pm & 4/10 at CHC 7-9pm

U 14’S (BORN 2006) 15/9 at CHC 3-5pm & 4/10 at CHC 7-9pm

U 15’S (BORN 2005) 15/9 at CHC 1-3pm & 20/9 at OL 7.30-9.30pm

U16/17’s (BORN 2003 or 2004) 20/9 & 27/9 at OL 7.30-9.30pm


U13’S (BORN 2007) 8/9 at BR 1-3pm & 4/10 at OL 7-9pm

U14’S (BORN 2006) 8/9 at CC 1-3pm & 4/10 at OL 7-9pm

U15’S (BORN 2005) 8/9 at CC 3-5pm & 20/9 at CHC 7-9pm

U16/17’s (BORN 2003 or 2004) 8/9 at BR 3-5pm & 20/9 at CHC 7-9pm

Venues are

BR Braintree Hockey Club, CM7 5L J

CHC Chelmsford Hockey Club, CM2 8RL

CC Coopers Coborn School, Upminster, RM14 3HS

OL Old Loughtonians Hockey Club, Chigwell, IG7 5AB

This invite is for players who have NOT already registered on the Player Pathway (If you have already registered you will receive an invite via The Player Pathway)

The cost is £15 for both Assessment Days, it is much better if you attend both days because you are more likely to be noticed/selected.

Register using the link: .  Click on “New player to the System” button.  Allocate yourself to Essex Development Centre & the relevant Academy Assessment Group based on your YEAR of birth (not your age now).  Register all your information including medical details and parental consent and set up a direct debit payment for £15. 

Email  to confirm which day/days you are attending.  If you are successfully selected to The Essex Hockey Academy you will be expected to attend training & East competitions days


Hockey Camps

The final OLHC Summer Hockey Camp for 2019 will be held on Friday 30th August and Monday 2nd September.  For further information and to register your interest please email .  Places will only be confirmed once registration forms and payment has been received.

It is important that the club continues to attract additional support and sponsorship. We welcome all levels of support (including another major sponsor alongside the Higgins Group) and potential bespoke packages are available to interested parties. Support and sponsorship can range from pitchside boards (on either of our pitches) to individual team deals. We welcome local sponsors in particular as well as national and international sponsors especially those with an interest in hockey.

Members introducing sponsors to the club (or sponsoring players or the club themselves) will benefit from free annual membership themselves. Please contact our chairman ( or the club office ( for more information or with any proposal.
