Masters Memories

Posted by Jo Davey on 2 July 2018

Hi Max et al,

It was great to see you after so many years and to meet your fine young men.  Thanks for your support and also to Neil & Elaine who made the journey.

This was Canada’s first outing for a 60+ team and the results were actually better than the scores suggest;

Lost 5-0 vs South Africa

Lost 7-0 vs Australia

Lost 4-0 vs Scotland

These 3 are ranked in the top 6 in the world for our age group and a loss of 5-0 vs the US, the latter was hard to swallow.

We actually won 4-1 against France and I tipped in a short corner for my first goal; pretty happy with that.  We have a rematch against France tomorrow and are hoping to put them to the sword again.

While I am here, I would like to remind Mick O’Malley of a conversation we had perhaps 3-4 years ago and he mentioned how much he enjoyed playing for Ireland.  Well, thanks Mick, it was you who got me interested in Grandmasters hockey.

I attack a picture of a romantic encounter I had with a SA player.  Stick under the ribs; what a charmer.

Thanks for joining us in Barcelona.  Am back to the UK later in the year and I hope to see some or all of you then.
