23.03.10 - ESSEX U10 COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS:
A strong Old Lought’s squad won the U10 Boys Essex County Clubs Tournament on Sunday at Redbridge Sports Centre. The boys won all five of their games scoring 18 goals without conceding any. Positional discipline and great teamwork ensured that the boys controlled their games and never really allowed the opposition to threaten the Old Lought’s goal. The squad now proceed to the East Region Tournament on April 18th. The squad was Max Sydenham, Archie Woods, Omer Cayir, Anshuman Sood, George Jackson, Cameron Linney, Jake David, James Ballard, Zayne Avril and Jake Botha.
A very young side of U10 girls played their first competitive tournament last weekend at the Essex County Championships. The girls won three and lost two games to finish a very creditable third. With the team including five 8 yr olds and one 7 yr old the girls started a little hesitantly but with the older girls showing the way they improved with each game and their enthusiasm never dipped. Well done to all the girls and many thanks to all the parents and older sisters who cheered them on all the way.
