13.04.10 - TIME TO LISTEN COURSE:
Do you hold a welfare position within hockey? Do you need some training to help you take your organisation to the next level in welfare terms? England Hockey has developed, in association with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) of the NSPCC, a hockey specific welfare course called Time To Listen (TTL) for Hockey. The purpose of TTL is to train volunteers within hockey who have a specific role within welfare by outlining the practical implications of being a nominated person responsible for safeguarding the welfare of children within their organisation. The ideal delegates for this training are Welfare Officers and any other volunteer who has a specific welfare role within the hockey family, whether that be within a club, school or any other aspect of the single system pathway, such as junior development, junior academy or junior regional performance centres. As a minimum requirement, delegates should already possess a sports coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop certificate as the TTL workshop aims to develop the delegate’s knowledge from theory to practical implementation within the delegate’s welfare role. For just £15, you can attend a workshop in the East Region at Stanground Sports Centre, Stanground, Peterborough on 14th June 2010 - 7 – 10 pm. The workshop will be delivered by an expert tutor and will be highly interactive. If you are interested in attending, please complete and return the application form (available in club foyer) and return to with a cheque for £15.00 payable to England Hockey to Jo Beresford England Hockey East Office, Culford School, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP28 6TX.
