11.05.10 - FORESTERS FINISH AS RUNNERS UP IN ESSEX TROPHY:
The Foresters’ long season finally came to an end on Sunday with the annual participation in the Essex Trophy. Although the opening game against Plashet ended in a 2 - 1 defeat the game was memorable for the Foresters’ goal, which was the Foresters 100th goal in all matches this season. This is the first time that the team have scored 100 goals in a season and perhaps fittingly it was scored by none other than team manager Renzo Paganuzzi making a rare outfield appearance! It was also his first ever goal for the Club! They went on to beat Redbridge and Ilford 4 - 0 and Waltham Forest 5 - 1 (with Pat Haslam in his usual goal scoring form) but finished as the tournament runners up. Hopefully the Trophy will be reclaimed next year!
