20.07.10 - Club Child Protection Policy
As we end one season and prepare for the next it is appropriate that we highlight that the Club takes very seriously its responsibilities in respect of Child Protection.
The Club has adopted the England Hockey “Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Sport” policy and has drawn up its own policy in line with these guidelines which is freely available for all to see.
In the event that any member has a concern in respect of Child Protection it would be appropriate to talk to our Child Welfare Officer: Izzy Jones who can be contacted on 07734-653698.
Other useful contact points are:
NSPCC Helpline: 0808 800 500
www.donthideit – advice aimed at young people on how to find out more about abuse and what you can do about it.
Childline: 0800 1111
www.childline.org.uk – free helpline for children and young people
Anti-bullying: www.bullying.co.uk – advice and guidance
www.thereforme.com – advice aimed at teenagers (12-16yrs) on a range of issues including abuse, bullying, exams, drugs and self harm.
Additionally at the start of next season we will be handing out a small flyer to all members to provide further details of these contact points. By doing this the Club hopes that all members will recognise our priorities in this important area.
